Russia has a wide arsenal of possible countermeasures in response to the decision of the G7 countries to allocate $50 billion to Ukraine at the expense of income from Russian assets, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said.
“Our country has significant amounts of Western funds and property that are under Russian jurisdiction. Russian retaliatory policy, retaliatory actions may apply to all this,” Maria Zakharova said at a briefing.
The diplomat noted that Moscow has received direct signals from a number of G7 countries that it is not they who are going to take such measures against Russia, but other G7 countries because they fear a response.
“The nature of these retaliatory actions, of course, no one will disclose. So the arsenal of political and economic countermeasures is wide,” the diplomat concluded.
