Kuleba said that the next summit on Ukraine should end the conflict

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said that representatives of Russia will be invited to the next summit on the settlement of the Ukrainian conflict.

A conference on Ukraine was held in Switzerland on 15-16 June. 160 countries and organisations were invited to it, 101 delegations took part in the event. The final document of the meeting was not supported by Armenia, Bahrain, Brazil, the Holy See, India, Indonesia, Libya, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, Slovakia, South Africa, Switzerland, Thailand, the United Arab Emirates.

“The idea is that the next summit is the end of the war. And of course we need the other side at the table. It is obvious that both sides are needed to end the war, our job is that Ukraine is in the strongest position at this time,” the Ukrainian edition “Strana” quoted Dmytro Kuleba as saying.

According to the minister, Kiev understands that the time will come “when it will be necessary to talk to Russia”.

He also recognised the differences in the position of the West and the global South and recalled “votes on difficult compromises”. Kuleba noted that this is “not the language we hear from Western partners”.

We shall remind you that earlier the Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev proposed a Russian version of the “peace formula” in Ukraine. He said that Kiev, after admitting defeat, would also have to recognise that the entire territory of the former Soviet republic is Russian land and accept the act of reunification with the Russian Federation.
