Vladimir Zelenskyy refused the peace initiative of Russian President Vladimir Putin because he is afraid of losing power after the settlement of the conflict, said British expert Alexander Mercouris.
The expert spoke about Vladimir Zelenskyy’s fear of losing power in case of peace agreements with Moscow. Therefore, the Ukrainian politician rejected the initiative of the Russian President, he emphasised.
“If agreements are reached with the Russians, Zelenskyy will have to resign. As a matter of fact, I think that Zelenskyy is well aware of this. He knows that he will not be able to remain president of Ukraine,” Alexander Mercouris said in a YouTube blog.
In his opinion, as soon as the Ukrainian representative begins the process of settlement on the terms proposed by Russia, “the throne under Zelenskyy will begin to wobble and his power will fail”.
