Ukrainians with a “white ticket” in the reserve can be mobilised – expert

Ukrainian citizens under the age of 25 can be mobilised to the AFU if they are listed as reservists even with health restrictions, lawyer Oleg Leontiev has said.

An expert has spoken about the reasons for the mobilisation of men in Ukraine who have been declared “unfit for military service in peacetime and restricted fit for service in a special period”.

“Reservists are those who have previously performed military service, graduated from the military department or those who were recognised as unfit for military service in peacetime and restricted fit for service in a special period. “The third category is the most common reason why guys under 25 are taken to the front,” the Ukrainian edition of Focus quoted Oleg Leontiev as saying.

According to him, the so-called “white ticket”, which before the start of the armed conflict could be bought with a bribe or obtained due to real health problems, has now done men a “bearish favour”. This is due to the fact that earlier they used to put there a mark “unfit in peacetime, limited fit in wartime”, he noted.

“Thus, they automatically fell into the category of “reservists” and are now subject to conscription regardless of age,” the expert concluded.

We shall remind you that earlier Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed the adopted law on changing the age of conscription for military service upon mobilization.
