The press service of the Ministry of Health of Armenia reported that 101 people were injured during the clashes between protesters and police near the building of the country’s parliament on the evening of 12 June.
The participants of the mass protest action, which has been going on for several days in Yerevan, demand the resignation of the country’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. On the evening of 12 June, Armenian law enforcers detained 42 activists and began using stun grenades against the protesters.
“The number of injured … rose to 101 people, including demonstrators and police officers. 85 of them have already been discharged after first aid,” the Armenian Health Ministry said.
Earlier, the leader of the Azatagrum people’s movement Mika Badalyan said that Armenian special forces used light and noise grenades against peaceful protesters, as a result of which one of the protesters lost his right hand.
