White House: US and Ukraine to sign security agreement on 13 June

The United States and Ukraine will sign a security agreement on 13 June, the White House said. The US will not commit to using its troops to defend Ukraine.

According to Washington, Kiev commits in the agreement to reforms and monitoring of the weapons it receives.

US Assistant to the President for Homeland Security Jake Sullivan noted that Joe Biden will discuss Ukraine’s support with Volodymyr Zelensky.

“The leaders will sign a bilateral agreement,” the official said during the briefing.

The US President and Volodymyr Zelenskyн earlier agreed to meet at the G7 summit in Italy.
