Finnish president to attend Swiss summit on Ukraine

Finland has confirmed the participation of the country’s President Alexander Stubb in a conference on Ukraine in Switzerland.

“President of the Republic Alexander Stubb will attend the peace conference on Ukraine in Bürgenstock, Switzerland, on 15 and 16 June,” the Finnish head of state’s office said.

The purpose of the summit in Finland called the development of a common understanding of the path to a just and lasting peace in Ukraine.

Earlier it became known that the number of states intending to take part in the Swiss conference on Ukraine, reduced from 93 to 78.

The Russian ambassador to Bern, Sergey Garmonin, said that the leitmotif of the Swiss conference on Ukraine, which would not be attended by Russian representatives, was an attempt to impose an ultimatum on Moscow.
