CNN: agreement with Ukraine will not be binding on the next US presidents

The US-Ukraine security agreement will have the status of an “executive agreement” and will not be binding on future US presidents, sources tell CNN.

This is said to make the planned agreement less formal than a treaty and “not binding on future presidents.”

The White House previously said the United States and Ukraine will sign a security agreement on 13 June, according to the White House. The USA will not commit to using its troops to defend Ukraine.
