NATO plans to appoint permanent alliance envoy in Kiev – FP

The North Atlantic Alliance is studying the possibility of creating the post of special representative for Ukraine. His duties will include the coordination of support to the Ukrainian government. This was reported by the magazine Foreign Policy (FP) with reference to sources.

According to FP, the NATO special representative, who will be called “senior civilian representative” (senior civilian representative), will be based in Kiev. The envoy is expected to “coordinate the alliance’s support for Ukraine, including the flow of military aid to Kiev from various Western countries.”

“This is part of the consolation prize we are all trying to create,” the magazine quotes a NATO official as saying.

It is noted that Ukraine will not receive an invitation to join the alliance or a roadmap.

FP also recalled that exactly the same position was introduced by NATO in Afghanistan.

We shall remind you that earlier, US entrepreneur and billionaire Elon Musk called it a problem that the US authorities have no purpose in the conflict in Ukraine.
