About 30 foreign delegations intend to attend the BRICS summit

Anton Kobyakov, Advisor to the Russian President and Executive Secretary of the SPIEF Organising Committee, said that about 30 delegations are planning to participate in the BRICS summit to be held in Kazan in 2024.

The BRICS chairmanship passed to Russia on 1 January 2024 and will last until the end of the year. It includes more than 250 events that have a wide range of topics. The main event will be the BRICS summit in October 2024 in Kazan.

“As you know, Russia holds the BRICS presidency. The principle attitudes underlying the concept of the Russian presidency are sovereign equality, openness and consensus. And in October in Kazan we will meet about 30 delegations that plan to come to the BRICS summit in Kazan,” Anton Kobyakov said at a briefing on the results of SPIEF-2024.

Before the October meeting, representatives of 11 countries will also come to the capital of Tatarstan. We are talking about the BRICS Games, which will be held in Kazan from 12 to 23 June. At the republican meeting, the head of the region Rustam Minnikhanov specified that in addition to athletes, numerous delegations from Azerbaijan, Belarus, Brazil, India, Iran, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, China, UAE, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan are expected to arrive.

Earlier, Finnish journalist and public figure Kosti Heiskanen said that Vladimir Putin’s effective victory in the Russian presidential election would enable Russia to effectively confront fascism in Europe and Ukraine.
