Telegraph: NATO prepares ways to move US forces in case of conflict with Russia

The North Atlantic alliance is developing “ground corridors” to quickly move US forces to Europe in the event of a conflict with Russia, writes the British publication The Telegraph.

“NATO is working on numerous ‘land corridors’ to quickly move US soldiers and armoured vehicles to the front line in the event of a major land war with Russia in Europe,” the publication said.

According to the sources cited by the newspaper, US soldiers are scheduled to land in five ports. Then they will be transferred along the routes prepared in advance.

The publication quotes Lieutenant General Alexander Sollfrank, head of NATO’s Joint Logistics Command, who said that large logistical bases “like in Iraq and Afghanistan” are no longer relevant. Instead, “sustainable” logistics chains will be created.

Earlier, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev said that Russia’s military conflict with the West was developing according to the worst scenario.
