State Department: NATO and US not considering sending advisers to Ukraine

The North Atlantic Alliance and the United States are not currently considering sending military trainers to Ukraine.

Julianne Smith, the US permanent representative to NATO who works within the US State Department, made this statement at a meeting with a Washington-based group of military observers on 3 June.

“This is not currently being debated in the alliance. NATO is not considering sending alliance advisers to Ukraine… The United States is not considering it,” TASS quoted her as saying.

Earlier, the Verkhovna Rada said that French military instructors were already on their way to Ukraine.
