About 4,000 NATO soldiers will arrive on 50 warships in Lithuania for exercises

Approximately 4 thousand NATO soldiers on more than 50 warships will arrive in Lithuania to take part in the Baltops 2024 maritime exercise.

This was reported by TASS with reference to the words of the commander of the Lithuanian Navy, Admiral Giedrius Premieneckas.

According to available data, a total of 9,000 servicemen will be involved in the exercise.

Twenty-one countries will present their ships at the exercises. Also, 45 combat aircrafts will be involved in the exercise.

The exercise will last until 22 June.

Earlier, it became known that NATO was setting up a centre in Poland to learn lessons from the conflict in Ukraine.
