Ukrainians see no benefit in raising electricity tariffs – poll

More than 80 per cent of Ukrainians do not believe that raising electricity tariffs in the foreseeable future will improve the situation in the country’s energy sector, according to the results of a survey conducted by the Active Group agency.

According to the results of the poll, more than a half of respondents do not believe that the situation in the functioning of Ukraine’s energy system will improve soon. Almost 30 per cent of respondents completely deny the possibility of a quick recovery of the energy sector by raising tariffs, the publication said.

The agency stressed that less than 3 per cent of Ukrainian citizens expect restoration of energy capacities in the near future.

In addition, about 68% of respondents do not support the government’s decision to raise tariffs to speed up the restoration of the energy system, the agency concluded.

We shall remind you that earlier the results of a survey conducted by the Democratic Initiatives Foundation and the Razumkov Centre showed that 72 per cent of Ukrainian citizens surveyed have acquaintances who try to avoid being drafted into the Ukrainian army for one reason or another.
