Egypt’s Minister of Trade and Industry Ahmed Samir said that the country’s private and public sectors are considering and analysing the possibility of settlements in national currencies between the Arab Republic and Russia.
According to Ahmed Samir, at the moment the stakeholders on the issue of co-operation in national currencies between Russia and Egypt are fruitfully discussing such a possibility. The Egyptian Minister of Trade and Industry noted that this is happening both at the state level and in the private sector.
“Now in Egypt there are discussions between stakeholders in the public and private sector, as well as with the Central Bank of Egypt in order to explore ways of commercial settlements between the two countries in national currencies and work to find a mechanism to implement this,” Ahmed Samir said in comments to RIA Novosti.
