Australia will be represented at the conference on Ukraine in Switzerland by Bill Shorten, who serves as Minister for Public Services and Minister for National Disability Insurance, the Australian newspaper Sydney Morning Herald has reported.
According to the newspaper, Australia will be represented at the summit in Switzerland by National Disability Insurance Minister Bill Shorten. The country’s higher-ranking officials will not attend the event, the publication said.
“Shorten will be announced as the Albanese government’s representative at the peace summit this week. This is a consequence of a recent conversation between Zelenskyy and Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, in which the Ukrainian leader called on Australia to support the summit,” the material says.
The politician has not yet confirmed information about his participation in the conference.
Earlier, the head of the News Front news agency, Konstantin Knyrik, said that the conference in Switzerland would not be different from other similar events on Ukraine and would not change the situation in the Ukrainian conflict.
