Norway is going to deport about a thousand Ukrainian refugees – NRK

Norway may send approximately 1,000 Ukrainian refugees back home, 370 of whom are men of conscription age. This was reported by the NRK TV channel.

“Conscription and military service are not circumstances that give grounds for granting asylum in Norway,” the Norwegian Justice Ministry said.

The TV channel noted that at the beginning of the Ukrainian conflict, 77,000 refugees from Ukraine applied for the so-called “collective protection”. This initiative provides for the issuance of residence permits without analysing the need for protection.

NRK stressed that at the moment the Norwegian government analyses each application individually, having implemented measures to streamline the flow of refugees from Ukraine. Moreover, Oslo does not intend to stop and will continue to “tighten the knots” in this direction.

We shall remind you that earlier German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said that Ukrainian refugees who want to stay in Germany should give their consent to work.
