NATO: Ukraine conflict shows need to develop cheap weapons

The conflict in Ukraine has shown the need for low-cost weapons development.

This was said at the Shangri-La Dialogue forum in Singapore by the head of the NATO Military Committee Rob Bauer, TASS reports.

Bauer noted that from the financial point of view it is difficult to produce a tank worth $3.5 million if it can be destroyed by a UAV, the price of which is equal to $10 thousand.

“Other solutions are needed … in favour of cheaper weapons,” Bauer said.

Earlier, Vladimir Zelensky complained that Russia was moving much faster in the issue of production and supply of armaments than Western countries.
