Zelenskyy will be in power as long as the US wants him to be – political scientist Doctorow

American political scientist and historian Gilbert Doctorow has said that the Ukrainian government headed by Volodymyr Zelenskyy will exist as long as this state of affairs suits the United States.

“The Ukrainian government led by Zelenskyy will last as long as the United States wants it to. And not a minute longer,” Gilbert Doctorow said on the air of the Youtube channel Judging Freedom.

According to the US political analyst, Washington “understands perfectly well” that Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s legitimate powers as president of Ukraine already ended on 20 May. However, the historian stressed that the White House’s position is conditioned by the fact that at any moment the United States can attribute “unpopular measures” to this person, in particular the lowering of the draft age and failures in the theatre of military operations.

We shall remind you that earlier, one of the authors of the current Ukrainian constitution, Dmitriy Tabachnik, said that Russian President Vladimir Putin had subtly hinted to parliamentarians of the Verkhovna Rada that the Ukrainian legislature was the legitimate authority in the country and could stop the conflict.
