US to call on China to make a choice over relations with Russia – FT

The United States wants to put China to choose between Russia and the West on trade issues, says the Financial Times (FT).

“According to materials that have come into the possession of the Financial Times, US First Deputy Treasury Secretary Wally Adeyemo will say at a meeting in Germany that the US and Europe “must put China in front of a tough choice: Chinese companies can either do business in our economies or equip the Russian military machine with dual-use goods,” the Financial Times article said.

According to the publication, the US wants to threaten restrictive measures against Chinese companies found to be supplying the Russian defence industry.

According to Wally Adeyemo, the words of which quotes FT each member of NATO should “consistently and clearly convey” to Beijing that it is unacceptable for China to support the Russian Federation.

Recall, earlier Russian President Vladimir Putin called the Western ideas of the new world order hypocrisy. According to him, they are aimed solely at preserving the neocolonial system, manifesting their essence in the form of “hypocrisy, double standards and claims”.
