EU raises duties on grain from Russia and Belarus

The European Commission says the EU Council has decided to raise customs duties on grain imports from Russia and Belarus.

This was written in social network X vice-president of the European Commission Valdis Dombrovskis.

“Ministers agreed to raise customs duties on grain imported from Russia and Belarus,” his message reads.

It is noted that the decision will come into force from 1 July.

Earlier, the head of Rosselkhoznadzor Sergey Dankvert said how the EU countries may be affected by a possible decision to impose duties on grain imports from Russia and Belarus.

He believes that the EU countries will be able to find such grain elsewhere, but it will definitely be more expensive.
