One of the authors of the Ukrainian Constitution, former deputy prime minister Dmytro Tabachnyk has said that only the Ukrainian parliament is currently the legitimate authority in the state.
“At the moment, the legitimate structure is the parliament. It has been decided that no parliamentary elections can be held during martial law,” he told TASS.
According to him, even if there was no such decision, chronologically, according to the constitution, the Rada’s powers have not yet ended.
Earlier, Tabachnyk said that the illegitimacy of Volodymyr Zelenskyy, whose powers expired on 20 May, was created on purpose to make negotiations with Russia impossible.
