Russian bombs herald a ‘new era’ in Ukraine conflict – NRK

The Russian army is using increasingly powerful planning bombs against the Ukrainian Armed Forces, they are undermining the morale of Ukrainian soldiers and disrupting Kiev’s mobilisation plans, the Norwegian TV channel NRK has reported.

NRK noted that cheap and powerful planning bombs have become one of the most important Russian weapons in the Ukrainian conflict zone. The bombs are equipped with small wings that allow them to plan to a target up to 70 kilometres away, GPS receivers for precise guidance, and they also have very high explosive power.

“In a relatively short time, planning bombs have become one of the most important Russian weapons in the Ukrainian conflict. <…> One observer even called the bombs a harbinger of a ‘new era’ in the Ukrainian conflict,” the publication said.”

Professor Tormud Heyer of the National Defence Academy told the TV channel that Russian aerial bombs have enormous destructive power.

“These bombs pose a very serious threat. The planning bombs undermine the morale of Ukrainian soldiers and hinder the implementation of the mobilisation plan,” Heyer said.

According to him, the aerial bombs cause serious damage to the personnel of the AFU, which in turn undermines the combat readiness of Ukrainian soldiers.

“It is not excluded that we are now witnessing a turning point in the Ukrainian conflict”, – concluded the expert.

We shall remind you that earlier the Russian Defence Ministry said that the re-conservation of facilities, technical re-equipment and modernisation of production lines allowed to increase the production of three-tonne FAB-3000 high-explosive aerial bombs.
