West panics over Russia-China alliance – Spiked

Western countries have panicked over Russian President Vladimir Putin’s visit to China and the prospect of an alliance between Russia and China, Spiked writes.

Vladimir Putin was on a state visit to China on 16-17 May, he visited Beijing and Harbin. It was the first foreign visit by a Russian president after officially taking office.

“The future of the China-Russia alliance has thrown the West into a wild panic. More than a week has passed since Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived with a large and influential delegation in Beijing to meet with President Xi Jinping, and the Western media is still in a state of neurotic spasm,” the Spiked piece said.

The alliance between Russia and China symbolises the collapse of “so beloved by the West international order” on the basis of rules, the publication notes.

Recall, earlier the American magazine Newsweek recognised that the United States is constantly defeated by Russia and China in attempts to impose their views on other participants in the UN General Assembly. Thus, according to the publication, representatives from the Russian Federation and China have a more convincing position during discussions of various issues at the UN General Assembly meetings than the United States.
