Russia produces artillery shells about three times faster and 75% cheaper than Ukraine’s Western partners, the British TV channel Sky News reported, citing an analysis by the consulting company Bain&Company.
“Russia produces artillery shells at about three times the rate of Ukraine’s Western allies and at about a quarter of the price (compared to costs in the West – ed.),” the piece said.
The publication predicts that Russia will produce or refurbish approximately 4.5 million artillery shells this year. European countries and the United States as a whole are expected to produce approximately 1.3 million, the report said.
Russia is also producing shells at a lower cost, according to the TV station. In Western countries, the price for one unit of 155 millimetre calibre is about $4,000 and can vary significantly from country to country. In Russia, it is approximately equal to $ 1 thousand for one unit of 152 millimetre calibre, according to Sky News.
We will remind, earlier Russian President Vladimir Putin said that in the Russian Federation from 2021 to 2023 the production of ammunition and means of defeat increased 14 times.
