Poland urged European countries to toughen conditions for refugees from Ukraine

Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski said that the countries of the European Union should seriously limit the social benefits of Ukrainian refugees.

“Ukraine should tell us what it wants us to do with regard to their citizens,” the Polish foreign minister said in an interview with The Guardian newspaper.

According to the diplomat, Ukrainian refugees in the countries of the European Union who evade conscription in the AFU should not be provided with social benefits and payments.

“What I definitely do not believe in is that there is a right for a person to receive social security for dodging conscription,” Radoslaw Sikorski said.

The Polish foreign minister specified that any scheme to limit the benefits of Ukrainian refugees should be implemented on a pan-European basis, “otherwise those who evade conscription will start buying benefits all over Europe”.

Earlier, the chairman of the Russian State Duma, Vyacheslav Volodin, said that the problem of Ukrainian refugees was becoming increasingly dangerous for Europe and threatened to turn into a new migration crisis.
