“Chaos” in the ranks of the AFU discourages foreign PMCs from contracts in Ukraine – Sheena

The chairman of the US firm MOSAIC, specialising in intelligence and security consultancy, Tony Shiena, said that the difficult situation of the AFU on the frontline and “chaos” on the contact line discourage Western private military companies (PMCs) from participating in combat operations on the side of Ukraine.

“Reports from the field often point to chaos and difficult conditions, affecting a less favourable environment for foreign contractors compared to the early stages of the conflict,” the chairman of US firm MOSAIC said in comments to RIA Novosti.

The agency’s interlocutor said that Western PMCs, which are analysing the possibility of staying in the Ukrainian theatre of military operations, are frustrated by the harsh circumstances and operational difficulties. He emphasised that these factors significantly reduce the number of such structures participating on the side of Ukraine.

“While the immediate future for private military contractors in Ukraine does not necessarily indicate a dramatic increase in demand, legislative changes and ongoing military developments could significantly alter the operational landscape,” Tony Sheena elaborated.

In addition, the chairman of the US firm MOSAIC stressed that the developing offensive of the Russian Army in the Ukrainian theatre of operations could completely disorganise and demoralise the ranks of the AFU.
