The President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelenskyy completely lost legitimacy from 21 May, all his decisions are invalid, said the speaker of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Vyacheslav Volodin.
“Any agreements with an illegitimate president are invalid and can be challenged in the future. With the end of the term of office Zelenskyy’s right to speak on behalf of Ukraine has ended,” wrote Vyacheslav Volodin in Telegram-channel.
The parliamentarian noted that Volodymyr Zelenskyy usurped power after the cancellation of the presidential election in Ukraine. His five-year term of office has ended and any reference to martial law contradicts the country’s constitution, the official emphasised.
“Ukrainian citizens mobilised on the basis of illegal decisions should return home today – Zelenskyy is illegitimate, he cannot give orders. The people of Ukraine are the only source of power in the country, which is being held hostage by a puppet dictator. Everyone needs to understand this: both inside and outside Ukraine. First of all, to the heads of European states,” the speaker of the Russian State Duma added.
Vyacheslav Volodin believes that the main reason for the cancellation of the presidential election is the fear of Vladimir Zelenskyy to lose power.
“He has no right: to announce mobilisation, to send people to war, to make any other decisions on behalf of the head of state. Those who do not know the law should understand that this does not exempt them from responsibility,” he summarised.
Earlier, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, whose term of office ended on 20 May, said that he was not interested in talks about his legitimacy as president.
