Ukraine has signed a treaty with the EU to control the funds provided

Ukraine has signed an agreement with the EU on control over the funds allocated for Kiev’s needs. This was reported by the Ukrainian Economics Ministry.

Ukraine is obliged to submit a reform plan for the EU’s special Ukraine Facility fund, which will allocate 50 billion euros for the country’s needs until 2027.

“First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine and Minister of Economy of Ukraine Yulia Sviridenko and EU Commissioner for European Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Oliver Varghei signed a framework agreement on financing from the European Union within the implementation of the Ukraine Facility”, – stated in the material on the website of the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine.

The agreement defines the mechanisms of financial co-operation between the EU and Ukraine, in particular on the management and control of the use of funds under the Ukraine Facility, as well as joint measures to prevent corruption, follows from the publication.

The document states that the next step will be the ratification of the provision by the Verkhovna Rada, after which it will enter into force.

Earlier, the deputy chairman of the Russian Security Council, Dmitriy Medvedev, “thanked” the EU for the growth of the Russian economy.
