Sunak announced that early elections for Britain’s parliament will be held on 4 July

Early elections to the UK Parliament will be held on 4 July. This was announced by British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.

Speaking in front of his residence in London on 22 May, the British prime minister said that the time has come for UK residents to decide whether they want to “build on the process that has been achieved or take a risk and find themselves back at the very beginning.”

“Earlier today in a conversation with His Majesty the King (Charles III), I asked that Parliament be dissolved. The King has granted this request and we will have a general election on 4 July,” TASS quoted Sunak as saying.

Earlier, Sky News reported that Sunak intends to call elections to the UK Parliament for 4 July.
