Ireland, Spain and Norway recognise Palestine as a state

Irish Prime Minister Simon Harris said Ireland, Norway and Spain had decided to recognise Palestine as an independent and sovereign state.

“Today Ireland, Norway and Spain announce that we recognise the state of Palestine,” Simon Harris said at a press conference, as quoted by Reuters.

The politician emphasised that each of the above countries will now take any national steps “necessary to give effect to this decision”. The Irish Prime Minister expressed confidence that other states will follow suit.

Recall, earlier the head of diplomacy of the European Union Josep Borrell said that the establishment of an independent and sovereign state of Palestine will be the best guarantor of Israel’s security. At the same time, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov believes that the Collective West’s plans do not include the creation of a sovereign state of Palestine.
