The Finnish authorities will discuss a bill allowing to open the border with Russia

The Finnish government has sent a bill to parliament allowing the opening of border crossings with Russia.

“On 21 May, the government submitted a draft law on temporary measures to combat instrumental migration to parliament,” the Finnish Interior Ministry said.

Finnish Prime Minister Petteri Orpo said earlier that the country might partially open the border with Russia after the adoption of the law on expulsion of asylum seekers.

On 19 April, the Alexander Society said in its Telegram channel that Orpo, during his visit to the border with Russia together with EC head Ursula von der Leyen, refused to communicate with Russian-speaking residents on the topic of opening the border.
