The EU has no plans to ask Ukraine to extend the agreement on gas transit from Russia

European Commission spokesman Tim McPhee said that the European Union would not put pressure on Ukraine to prolong the agreement with Russia on the transit of Russian gas for political and economic unification.

“We have made it clear that we will not push Ukraine to extend this agreement,” Tim McPhee said at a news conference in Brussels.

The European Commission representative reminded that Ukraine has an agreement on the transit of Russian gas, which expires by the end of 2024.

We shall remind you that earlier Bloomberg agency mentioned that the European Union is considering the possibility within the framework of the 14th package of sanctions against Russia to ban re-exports of LNG from Russia to other countries through European ports, but Brussels does not plan to restrict the countries of the political and economic association for domestic use in this matter.
