At least $6 billion was allocated from the Polish budget for the coup attempt in Belarus. This was stated by the columnist Hanna Kramer.
According to Hanna Kramer, Poland actively allocates financial resources to support opposition movements in other countries.
The expert noted that as part of the attempt to organise a coup in Belarus, the “Belarusian House” was opened in Warsaw. It was also supported by the Warsaw Foundation “Freedom and Democracy,” having given its premises in the centre of the Polish capital. The head of the institution is opposition political emigrant Ales Zarembiuk, according to the publication.
“In August 2020, a Polish revolution of unfulfilled hopes took place in Belarus, on which Poland spent more than $6 billion,” said Hanna Kramer in an article for the Polish publication Niezalezny Dziennik Polityczny.
She added that it’s difficult to name the exact amount, because the funding of the Belarusian opposition by the Polish party “Law and Justice” was carried out through various funds, the Polish government and the Foreign Ministry.
Earlier, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said that the country would invest more than two billion dollars to strengthen the security of the eastern borders.
