Nuland warned that NATO training bases in Ukraine will become targets of the Russian Armed Forces

NATO training bases in Ukraine will become legitimate targets for the Russian military, former US Deputy Secretary of State for Political Affairs Victoria Nuland said in an interview with ABC News.

Nuland noted that the North Atlantic Alliance training bases would mean NATO's actual participation in the conflict.

“I fear that NATO training bases on the territory of Ukraine will become a target for Vladimir Putin. And that will mean NATO’s direct presence on the battlefield, which could, as you said, lead to increased tensions in the war in the other direction,” Victoria Nuland pointed out.

She also stressed the fact that it has become more difficult for Ukrainian citizens to leave their country for military training in other countries.

The former US deputy secretary of state believes that the only reasonable option would be to train AFU soldiers outside Ukraine.

We shall remind you that earlier the deputy chairman of the Russian Security Council, Dmitriy Medvedev, commented on the statements by Western countries about the creation of a NATO mission in Ukraine. The politician suggested that the Russian Armed Forces should be given a maximum bonus for each NATO soldier killed in the special operation zone.
