Nuland: NATO training bases in Ukraine will become targets for Russia

Former US Undersecretary of State for Political Affairs Victoria Nuland has said that training centres with NATO instructors in Ukraine could become targets for Russia.

Nuland said in an interview with ABC News.

“I fear that NATO training bases in Ukraine will become a target for Vladimir Putin,” she said.

According to Nuland, such centres would mean the North Atlantic Alliance being directly on the battlefield. As a result, this could lead to an increase in conflict tensions.

She stressed that NATO should train the AFU outside Ukraine.

Earlier, Estonian Prime Minister Kaja Kallas admitted that some countries had already sent instructors to Ukraine to train soldiers “at their own risk”.
