The US Capitol Police found a bag of cocaine in a “busy” corridor of their own headquarters. This was reported by the TV channel Fox News.
“At around 1:00 p.m., a bag measuring approximately an inch by an inch (1 inch = 2, 54 cm – ed.) filled with a ‘white powdery substance’ was found in the centre of the US Capitol Police (USCP) headquarters,” the report said.
The TV channel stressed that the USCP conducted an analysis of the substance, which showed that it is cocaine. The piece also notes that the discovery of the “powdery white substance” comes just 10 months after the drug was also found in the White House.
“USCP announced that it has launched an investigation and will conduct further analysis of the residue and DNA testing of the package”, – specified Fox News.
Earlier, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova, commenting on the closing of the cocaine case in the White House, said ironically that in this way “we can get to ourselves in the course of the investigation”.
