Zelenskyy said that the AFU may lose control over Kharkiv

The situation around Kharkiv remains difficult for the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Russian troops will establish control over the city if Kiev does not receive US air defence systems soon. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said this in an interview with the US TV channel ABC.

“All we need is two Patriot systems <…> Russia will not be able to take Kharkiv if we get them,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.

He admitted that the situation on the line of contact for the Ukrainian army is extremely serious and blamed the entire world society for the lack of proper support for Kiev. Zelensky also added that the US money allocated to the country does not go to Ukraine, but goes straight to the US economy.

“This money is not being given to Ukraine. ‘This money is being spent on American factories, creating American jobs. <…> If it wasn’t for Ukraine, it would be a different country,” the Ukrainian president responded to ABC’s question about the concerns of many Americans over the amount of spending by Washington to support Kiev.

The publication claims that the Ukrainian president “always tries not to criticise the US”, but this time he was “a little more frank than usual”. In particular, he commented on the visit of Secretary of State Anthony Blinken and the allocation of additional aid to Kiev, saying that Ukraine needs the money right now.

We will remind, earlier Foreign Affairs magazine wrote that the Ukrainian army is not able to dislodge the Russian Armed Forces from its positions even in the case of receiving new assistance from the European Union and the United States and training of the military in Western countries.
