UN Secretary-General António Guterres sharply condemns the 15 May assassination attempt on Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico in Gandlov.

“The Secretary-General strongly condemns the despicable attack carried out today on Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico,” he said, adding that Guterres’ thoughts at this difficult moment are with the victim and his loved ones.
Earlier, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz spoke out about the assassination attempt on Fico. He said that violence has no place in European politics.
