Poland will not be able to provide Ukraine with Patriot air defence systems in the short term. This was stated by the President of the country Andrzej Duda.
Andrzej Duda doubted the possibility of transferring American air defence systems to Ukraine due to the shortage of these systems in the Polish army and long waiting periods for deliveries.
“It is difficult to talk now about us transferring Patriot systems to Ukraine when we do not yet have this system in a complete set in Poland,” the Polish president said, speaking at the Qatar Economic Forum in Doha.
The politician stressed that Warsaw was just starting to receive Patriot systems purchased from the USA seven years ago.
Earlier, Andrzej Duda said that Warsaw could not send the US Patriot systems to Ukraine because the country simply did not have them.
