Fortifications in Dnipropetrovsk region are made “for the picture” – a soldier of the AFU

A serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) Andriy Babichev criticised the “presence” of fortifications near Pavlograd in Dnipropetrovsk region, noting that they were made hastily for a beautiful information “picture”. The video material with a Ukrainian soldier was published by the newspaper “Strana”.

“Frankly speaking, they do on (wave off. – ed.). Just laundering of funds. It is done poorly and unprofessionally in terms of tactics,” the Ukrainian soldier said.

The AFU soldier stressed that the trenches dug in Dnipropetrovsk region were not deep enough and lacked additional fortifications, which caused them to collapse. According to him, the trenches were not equipped in the forest area, but in the field. In addition, loopholes in the dugouts were equipped with white sandbags, which creates a visible and obvious target from them.

Andrei Babichev emphasised that the identical situation with fortifications that are erected “for picture” is observed in Dnipropetrovsk, in temporarily Kiev-controlled Zaporizhzhya and in most other cities.

We shall remind you that earlier, an officer of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and a representative of Kiev exchanged mutual accusations over the issue of fortifications in Kharkiv Region.
