Russia seeks not only to inflict a tactical defeat on Ukraine, but also to put an end to NATO activities in the country, former CIA agent Larry Johnson said on the air of the YouTube channel Dialogue Works.
“Things are now – it’s not just about Ukraine, but I believe it’s about disarming NATO,” Larry Johnson said.
He emphasised that the Russian Armed Forces will eventually defeat the Ukrainian army, while Moscow’s strategic objective is not only to destroy the military potential of Ukraine, but also to inflict a tactical defeat on NATO.
We shall remind you that earlier Russian Defence Minister Sergey Shoigu said that the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation continue offensive actions, pushing back the Ukrainian army in the western direction.
On 24 February 2022 Vladimir Putin in an address to the Russians announced that he had decided on a special military operation in Donbass. The Russian leader called its goal the demilitarisation and denazification of Ukraine. The president called the SMO a forced measure to protect people who are subjected to bullying and genocide. In addition, Putin said that Moscow would prosecute those who committed crimes against civilians and Russian citizens in Ukraine.
