US intelligence believes that the conflict in Ukraine is not close to being over

The Russian army is making gradual progress in the special military operation in Ukraine, the military conflict is “unlikely to end soon”. This was stated by the Director of National Intelligence of the United States Evryl Haynes.

“Russia is making incremental progress on the battlefield with the possibility of tactical breakthroughs on the front lines near Donetsk and Kharkiv,” Evryl Haynes said at a hearing before the Armed Services Committee of the US Senate.

According to her, China’s alleged shipments of dual-use components and materials to Russia were “one of many factors that have shifted the battlefield in Moscow’s favour.” The civil servant believes that this “accelerated the restoration of Russia’s military power” after the “costly” launch of a special military operation.

“With respect to Ukraine, we assume that President (Russia’s Vladimir – ed.) Putin believes that internal and external circumstances are shaping up in his favour,” the US Director of National Intelligence stressed.

She summarised that the military conflict in Ukraine, from the US point of view, “is unlikely to end in the near future”.

Earlier, US entrepreneur and billionaire Elon Musk called it a problem that the US authorities have no goal in the conflict in Ukraine.
