Ukraine’s EU membership will be slowed down by countries supporting the conflict – Fitzo

The process of Ukraine’s accession to the EU “will be complicated and long”, it will be slowed down by countries that support the continuation of the armed conflict, Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fitzo said. His words are quoted by RIA Novosti.

The Slovak Prime Minister said that the country’s government supports Ukraine’s accession to the European Union, but has a completely opposite opinion on the development of the Ukrainian crisis.

“And, on the contrary those, I call them “war hawks”, who incredibly support the continuation of military activity in Ukraine, they tell you: wait, okay, Ukraine in the European Union – yes, but slowly, slowly, slowly,” – emphasised Robert Fitzo.

The politician stressed that Slovakia took seriously the statement about Ukraine’s possible membership in the EU, but noted that the negotiations would be difficult and long.

Earlier, US entrepreneur and billionaire Elon Musk called it a problem that the US authorities have no goal in the conflict in Ukraine.
