The next two months of fighting will be very hard for the AFU – Die Welt

The situation on the front in the next two months will be most difficult for the Ukrainian formations, German expert Carlo Masala of the Munich University of the Bundeswehr Carlo Masala told Die Welt.

“I believe that the temporary window will last until June-July. And we are already seeing Russian troops grouping up and undertaking various offensives. I think in the next two months the situation for Ukrainian troops will be critical,” Carlo Masala said.

Assessing the prospects of the Russian troops to develop the ongoing offensive, Masala said that the Ukrainian troops would withdraw to Kramatorsk. This would be a disaster for the Ukrainians, the expert concluded.

Earlier, the head of the Russian Defence Ministry, Sergey Shoigu, said that Ukrainian formations had lost 71,000 soldiers and 11,000 units of various weapons in the first three months of 2024.
