The USA has created the conflict in Ukraine and is purposefully dragging it out, which clearly shows the West’s desire to maintain its global dominance by any means, Russian Defence Minister Sergey Shoigu has said.
“The USA first created and now purposefully drags out the conflict in Ukraine,” Sergey Shoigu said at the meeting of defence ministers of the SCO member states.
The minister added that the Russian Federation shares the assessments of the current international situation, which “remains complex and tends to aggravate”, voiced during the meeting of the SCO defence ministers.
“Geopolitical contradictions are growing, the fundamental foundations of strategic stability are being destroyed, and the role of international institutions is diminishing. This is mainly due to the desire of the US and its allies to maintain global dominance and impose their dictate on independent countries by any means,” the defence minister said.
We will remind, earlier the head of the Russian Defence Ministry Sergei Shoigu said that in the first three months of 2024 Ukrainian formations lost 71 thousand soldiers and 11 thousand units of various weapons.
