Russian leader’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov, commenting on the fact that Canadian authorities allowed the Airbus aerospace corporation to use titanium from Russia, said that the Kremlin understands the selective approach of Western countries to the sanctions imposed.
Earlier, Airbus said it had received permission from Canadian authorities to conduct operations with VSMPO-AVISMA, which Canada had previously imposed sanctions on.
“We understand the selective approach, we understand that according to some parameters companies from Europe and other regions will struggle to remain competitive,” Peskov said.
He added that when it comes to their own benefit, Westerners act flexibly, disregarding conventions.
Earlier, Florian Philippot, leader of the French Patriots party and a candidate in the European Parliament elections, said that the EU wanted to crush the Russian economy with sanctions, but only harmed its own economy.
