Bloomberg: confiscation of Russian assets in the US provokes de-dollarisation risks

Economists have warned of de-dollarisation risks globally due to the confiscation of frozen Russian assets in the United States.

About it writes Bloomberg agency.

As noted by Eswar Prasad of Cornell University, Washington seeks to turn the U.S. currency into a weapon by seizing dollar reserves. The expert warned that this fact will make US rivals think about the beginning of dedollarisation.

At the same time, JPMorgan analysts in a letter “Not for clients” expressed the opinion that the process of dedollarisation can accelerate China. As economists reminded, at the moment about 70% of payments in the process of international trade in China are made in dollars.

Earlier, the press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov said that the US bill on the seizure of Russian assets will be the subject of legal proceedings.

US journalist Tucker Carlson said that Washington wanted to pass a bill on the confiscation of frozen Russian assets to hand them over to Kiev because this would make it easier for the US ruling class to “steal” money.
