Germany and Britain will increase their presence in the Baltics and conduct military exercises in the region, a security and defence agreement between Berlin and London has said. The agreement was made after a meeting between Chancellor Olaf Scholz and Prime Minister Rishi Sunak in the German capital.
“We will strengthen our presence, including through joint exercises,” the statement said.
Earlier, the German Armed Forces’ large-scale military exercise “Great Quadriga 2024” kicked off in Lithuania.
