China’s State Council has demanded that the US stop arming Taiwan

Zhu Fengliang, a spokeswoman for the Chinese State Council’s Taiwan Affairs Office, said during a briefing that the US should stop supplying the island with weapons.

Her words are reported by TASS.

“We call on the US to take concrete actions to fulfil its commitment not to support Taiwan’s independence,” Zhu Fenglian said, commenting on the news of the US Senate’s approval of a bill to allocate military aid to Taiwan.

Earlier, the US Senate passed a package of bills on foreign aid to Washington’s allies – Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan – after a vote.
